A campaign to build a memorial at Optimist Park honoring the brave, local men and women who gave their lives in the line of duty to protect us.
The Plan

Through community philanthropy, and the help of organizations and individuals like you, the Northern Valley Law Enforcement Memorial steering committee plans to raise $250,000 needed to build a memorial in honor of the brave Northern Valley law enforcement officers who have given their lives in the line of duty. The Northern Valley Law Enforcement Memorial, located at Optimist Park, will be a place where the legacy of Law Enforcement members can be recognized and honored.

When the memorial is completed, it will represent Federal, Canadian, Minnesotan, and North Dakotan law enforcement members who have died in the line of duty in the Northern Valley.

The Need & Benefit

You may not be aware, but Grand Forks is the largest community in North Dakota without a memorial for law enforcement officers.  Our committee members are dedicated to serving others and feel called to help our community build a memorial to honor the brave men and women in the Northern Valley that have given their lives in the line of duty.  Law enforcement officers put themselves in harm’s way to protect us, and it is important that we recognize and honor the fallen officers within our community.

Over the past 3 years, through the efforts of our volunteer steering committee, we have diligently researched many options, carefully designed a memorial plan, developed the project budget, received the official approvals to move forward with the project, and we are now ready to raise the funds needed to build this much-needed memorial.
